I am booked to stay at the Polynesian next year. How is the construction of the DVC going to effect my stay? Also, I heard they may be doing work to the pool and GCH. Should I change my resort? Or should I see how it plays out?

Changing resorts is a tough choice, especially when the Polynesian is one of the choices, it is such a fantastic resort. The construction fences are already going up, but there is no way to predict what it will look like when you travel. The dates for any work on the pool or GCH have not been published. My best advice is to follow the situation on Tikiman’s facebook page & website ( He is an unofficial site, but a great source of information, updates & photos of what is happening at the Polynesian. If you see that the amount of work going on, or reports of noise bother you, then you can always switch resorts. Changes can be made to packages up to 45 days prior to check-in with no penalties.

About Sarah Chapman

I am a long time Disney fan since I was hooked on Walt Disney World with my first trip in 1987. Since that time I’ve tried experiencing everything I can in the parks, with a total of 30 visits and counting (I’m always planning my next trip) to Walt Disney World—not to mention Disney Cruise Line and even (shhh!) Universal Orlando and Sea World. I’ve turned my Disney obsession into a profession helping others plan their magical vacations as a Dream Vacation Maker at LBAC Travel. I am a work at home mom to three wonderful boys, and each one has been properly indoctrinated with all things Disney. Walt Disney World is definitely our “Laughing Place.” Look for me on Facebook at for updates, discount announcements, tips, tricks and planning advice for your next vacation.
