We have brought our 6 year old granddaughter who is in a wheel chair there. We hear there is a change in the policy for people with disabilities. What are they and why should the kids be made to suffer because of the adults that abuse the system?

Disney is in the process of updating the program, with the intention of making it easier for those with disabilities to use the program and more difficult for those who have abused the system. They will be rolling out those details very soon, as it is set to be implemented on October 9, 2013 in both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Guest Services at the front of the parks will be where you will head first when coming into the parks. They will assist you in getting the new card and showing you how to implement the new system to best provide you with the assistance you need. They will also answer any questions and note any problems you or your family are experiencing with the new system. They have sought input from many of the groups that guests with disabilities belong to when forming this new program. You are correct in saying that many have abused the current system and it was not providing you with the best service, nor the rest of the people purchasing tickets to enjoy the parks in a fair manner.

About Cassie

Cassie L. I am a lifelong Disney fan. I attended Walt Disney World in 1971, and was there during the opening week of EPCOT, and have visited the Disney Parks more than 30 times. I have had the privilege of visiting Disneyland as a child, and then again with my children. My family recently moved from the northeastern United States to the Walt Disney World area. I now have cast members in my family and enjoy hearing the magical stories at the end of a shift. I love visiting all of the parks and getting to try more Disney food and being able to share it with you to help you plan your own magical day at Disney.
