Hi! I’m planning a trip to Disneyworld for 2014. We are considering mid-November (maybe 2 weeks before Thanksgiving) or the first week in December (we would arrive the Thursday after Thanksgiving and stay a week). I want to see the Christmas decorations, but I also hope to be able to use the pools with a 2 year old. And I want the smallest crowds I can get. :-) Which month would be better?

If your November dates include Veteran’s Day weekend you will have pretty crowded parks–in addition to the holiday Monday, there are several special events taking place in Walt Disney World that weekend that attract a lot of guests. So, if that is the time you were considering for November I would choose the December dates. During either time you will see Christmas decorations in all of the parks and resorts, and the weather really won’t be that different. I’ve traveled at both of those times in the past, and the weather can be fickle, but we were able to swim both times.

About Sarah Chapman

I am a long time Disney fan since I was hooked on Walt Disney World with my first trip in 1987. Since that time I’ve tried experiencing everything I can in the parks, with a total of 30 visits and counting (I’m always planning my next trip) to Walt Disney World—not to mention Disney Cruise Line and even (shhh!) Universal Orlando and Sea World. I’ve turned my Disney obsession into a profession helping others plan their magical vacations as a Dream Vacation Maker at LBAC Travel. I am a work at home mom to three wonderful boys, and each one has been properly indoctrinated with all things Disney. Walt Disney World is definitely our “Laughing Place.” Look for me on Facebook at for updates, discount announcements, tips, tricks and planning advice for your next vacation.
