Santa is bringing my son and daughter Magic Bands for 2 days at Walt Disney World. They’ve only ever been to Magic Kingdom. What 2 parks would you recommend for a tween boy and girl?

If I had any choice, I’d likely pick Epcot plus Magic Kingdom. I don’t think you can ever go wrong picking MK, because I’m a traditionalist, and I think you almost have to go to MK anytime you’re in WDW – but I know that’s not the case for everyone. Definitely go to Epcot – the lines for some attractions may be long, but with the recent improvements to Soarin’, plus other attractions including Frozen Ever After and others, I just don’t think you can go wrong. And if you don’t want MK, I’d likely pick Animal Kingdom. It’s not my favorite, and Avatar isn’t set to be open by your visit, but Hollywood Studios just has too much renovation going on right now to be enjoyable. With just a handful of true rides available, I’d likely bypass Hollywood Studios for now and go straight to AK.

About Scott Callicott

I am a lifelong Disney fan, heading to WDW the year it opened and to Disneyland and Walt Disney World 18 different times thereafter – living in the Midwest, that’s no small feat! I’ve visited via RV, car, and plane, and I’ve made sure to learn a few tips along the way. Our boys are now third-generation Disney fanatics. We all love the onsite resorts, shops, rides, and all things Disney. When I’m not at Disney or longing to be there, I work in communications for a Fortune 50 company and also teach college communications courses. I’m happy to help you find answers to your questions about the Happiest Place on Earth!
